Interesting story to the company too;

I've got an old Majestic radio, but it's a few years later (still has the FC speaker, a 12" with more of a "standard" coil housing).

Nice read Thanks!
Was impressed by this-
"Reports in September described how 150 tons of steel, 16,000 pounds of tinfoil, 12,000 pounds of paper, enough speaker wire to encircle the globe, 5,000 pounds of aluminum and 20 tons of wax, along with hundreds of thousands of smaller items, made their way to the factory daily in 37 railcars. Each day 40 cars filled with finished goods left the plant."

You're welcome.
Looks like they patented their cone materials and process;
IXHJD SPEAKER - Google Patent Search
Had to look up "buckram". A stiff, formable woven, starched cotton or linen, long used to make hats, now mostly as textbook covers. G-G's cone patent used aluminum & graphite powder in laquer to coat the buckram for added mass.
Must have been good stuff, that cone looks pretty nice for 80 years old.

Just noticed- by the time their patent was granted (8/33) G-G was already bankrupt.
